Today at the academy, we're going to talk about the difference between vanity metrics which often get confused and things that should be important versus ROI and true involvement with your client that leads to sales. I have a question for you. I'm sure you've been on social media before, whether it's Facebook, whether it's LinkedIn, Twitter, Pinterest or TikTok. Whatever platform you're on, it's important to understand that likes, shares and follows or often vanity metrics, which we can't track back into a return on investment or true engagement that leads to sales. So what would be important if you get your prospects to engage with you, click on a link or perhaps decide to visit your website from a social media post. That's something we can measure, and that's something we can show. We also can look at how many people went to your social media post, filled out a lead, form, and possibly became clients. One of the first things we do at Orbital Media is we make sure that you understand and we understand when our ROI is to you, what's valuable to you. It's not likes, it's not clicks, it's not shares, it's information that causes that prospect to become a buyer. Does a million followers mean that you're going to get business tomorrow? I can't promise you will, but what if a video or a post could get you four or five potential leads of people in your community that can afford to pay and are ready to solve a problem that they have? Do you ever notice that people do things that cause challenges with the way society operates? For example, if you're on a street and it's one way, and there is a person trying to go up the one way street. There could be some traffic issues as well as the local law enforcement giving you a ticket for the wrong way on a one way street. In life there are certain things that you need to do to be socially responsible for. For example, when you're out and you're at a party, you're not going to drink and drive. You will instead get a Uber or a cab to take you home instead. Another example is if I'm out drinking and there's a person over there, I'm not going to tap that person on the shoulder if I don't know that person. You take accountability for your actions and what happens because of what you do or don't do, and how it impacts others. That is what being socially responsible means. Now, this is something that a lot of people don't think about because they're too up in their ego.
